Hey, I’m Stacey

I am the Co-Owner along side, Vicky. I have been involved in dance since I was a toddler and have dedicated my life to the art form. I am thrilled to be in business with Vicky and look forward to this exciting new chapter together!

Performing Fabrics & Dancewear was established in 1995 to fulfill a need for a dedicated dance store for Nanaimo and the surrounding area. We are committed to providing knowledgeable and friendly service to all our customers. Our staff is well trained in fitting all types of dance shoes, and know the benefit of proper shoes for every style of dance. We also carry everything male and female dancers need, from undergarments to bodysuits.

We aim to maintain a stock of regular items for class work. Fashion items change with every season so you will always find something new to wear: from warm-up gear, to accessories, to the latest in dance fashion. Looking for something specific? We would be happy to place a custom order for you from any of our suppliers!

Vicky Trobridge - Co-Owner

Vicky was introduced to dance when her daughter began Highland dance at the age of seven and was involved in the dance community for the next eight years. Having sewn for many years the craft became valuable as she made dance outfits and year end costumes. She was involved in the start up of Performing Fabrics as there was no dance store in Nanaimo. Vicky is excited to welcome her new business partner, Stacey!

Madeline Joseph

Madeline grew up in Port Alberni where she started dancing at two years old.

Teaching quickly became a meaningful part of her dance journey. She began teaching Tap and Preschool classes at the age of 14, and by 2022, she was instructing Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Contemporary. Madeline is also a coach for the VIU Dance Team.

In addition to teaching, Madeline has worked at the Harbour Dance Shop for the past two years and is now excited to begin a new adventure with Performing Fabrics.

Katelyn Kurtz

Katelyn began dancing at a young age in Winnipeg and has remained deeply involved in the dance world ever since. She continues to take classes, teaches regularly, coaches the VIU Dance Team, and is also a full-time student at VIU.

In addition to teaching, Katelyn has worked at the Harbour Dance Shop for the past two years and is now excited to begin a new adventure with Performing Fabrics.

Bella Sertic

Bella Sertic has been dancing at Harbour Dance Studios since the age of three. She joined the Daytime Program at twelve and is currently a member of the Pre-Professional team. Bella trains in a variety of styles including ballet, contemporary, lyrical, and jazz, with a special love for ballet and pointe work.

Bella enjoys helping younger dancers find the perfect dance attire and shoes—and she’s so excited to start her new role at Performing Fabrics!
